The roof is an integral part of every building and choosing the right product is an important consideration.

COLORSTEEL® pre-painted steel roofing is suitable for almost every design. Its long, straight lines or gentle curves can be used to create stunning homes.

The COLORSTEEL® Endura™ pre-painted steel range has 24 nature inspired colours – from the dramatic to the subtle. The range of colours will allow your designer to either blend with the local surroundings or use colour to enhance bold design. The colour of the roof may be used to contrast or complement the rest of the house.

The light weight of COLORSTEEL® gives greater design flexibility, while the colours give the designer the choice of blending or creating interest through building design.

COLORSTEEL® pre-painted steel products are used extensively in building applications: roofs, fascias, gutters and cladding. Only New Zealand Steel manufactures COLORSTEEL® pre-painted steel. Other products may look the same, but they don’t always match the performance of the genuine COLORSTEEL® pre-painted steel.

COLORSTEEL® ENDURA™ pre-painted steel products are not recommended for use in very severe environments. For instance, near breaking surf or corrosive industrial emissions.

COLORSTEEL® ENDURA™ pre-painted steel products should not be used in the following applications:

Embedded in concrete
In contact with permanently wet materials
Water tanks
In contact with soil, bark or similar
As concrete formwork
In intensive animal shelters

Copper or brass pipes must not be allowed to discharge onto COLORSTEEL® pre-painted steel products or be allowed to come into contact with them.

Mixing of brands of pre-painted material on the same building is not recommended by New Zealand Steel Limited. Marking with lead pencils is not advised, and sealing washers should be low carbon non-conducting.

Areas of COLORSTEEL® ENDURA™ pre-painted steel that are not regularly washed with rain water, such as wall claddings and areas of high risk, must be routinely washed to remove surface deposits to ensure satisfactory life is obtained from the product.

The New Zealand Building Code (BIA B2.3.1 Durability) has indicated that non-structural roofing shall have a minimum durability of 15 years (with maintenance). Product selection and the environment of the building location may affect warranty periods.
